Introduction

As a former professional woodworker, I sometimes reflect to when I was a younger man with a dream and plenty of enthusiasm.  That dream was to design and build my perfect home, code named, "Project Merlin".

Project Merlin was to be a traditional oak framed dwelling on a rural plot of land.  The inspiration came from our magnificent heritage of Tudor buildings, with a splash of Gothic and a magical sprinkle of Merlin the Wizard.

Below are the ongoing stages of building a detailed scale model of Project Merlin, with write-ups and lots of photos throughout the process of the build.  This will be a lengthy project.  I hope you can join me on this journey, and join in with any thoughts or inspirations you might have.
